Guiomar Romero | President / Co-Founder

Guiomar Guiomar has been living in San Miguel de Allende for over 10 years. She was born in San Luis Sonora, Mexico, and then spent several years in Tucson, Arizona where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Mexican American Studies from The University of Arizona.

She came to San Miguel while working for an import business of furniture and handicrafts made in San Miguel and throughout Mexico. She developed a love for the community of San Miguel and she and her husband Jed decided to make their home in San Miguel with their two children.

Erika Hernandez Barasoain | Secretary

Erika Erika Hernandez, a native of Mexico City, settled in San Miguel de Allende six years ago, after over a decade of living abroad, primarily in Northern California and the UK. She is a graduate of Tec de Monterrey with a degree in Management Information Systems, and currently works in the professional services group of Ascert, a software company, when she's not raising her lovely 5 year old daughter Andrea with her husband Daniel. Amigos del Parque is Erika's favorite way of giving back to a city that is now home.

Barbara Lopez Vie | Treasurer

Barbara Barbara Lopez Vie. is an Architect, she obtained her degree at the UDEM and has experience in Business Administration and Project Management. She's currently starting up a company and working as treasurer for Amigos del Parque SMA AC.

ElaineProctor | Foreign Community Links/Co-Funder

Elaine Elaine Proctor grew up all over but considers the deep south her home. After obtaining a BA in Art History from George Mason University, she worked in fundraising for two University Foundations and then moved into the creative arts. After owning an art gallery in Arizona for several years, she moved back to the east coast and began working in fashion. Her career in fashion took her from Miami to NYC and finally to Rome, Italy. Elaine and her family currently spend the school year in San Miguel de Allende and go to Italy during the summer.

Paola Velasco Castro | Media

Paola Paola Velasco Castro holds a degree in Literature and has experience in journalism and publishing. She is currently the editor of Perfil San Miguel magazine, a contributor to Limegreen journal and responsible for social communication of Amigos del Parque AC, and of the Observatorio Ciudadano del Agua de SMA non-governmental organization.

Alma de la Rosa | Government Links

Alma Alma is a native of Leon, Guanajuato but considers herself San Miguelense. She´s lived for 10 years in San Miguel de Allende, a city that she originally came to open an office for COFOCE (the state's promotion of exports department). She holds a degree in International Business from the University of Guanajuato and is currently working for Master Logistics, inc. Married to Luis Alberto Villareal and mother of Triana, Alma enjoys movies, books and sports (as a spectator) in her spare time. She contributes to Amigos del Parque because she is convinced that the world we live in can be improved if we all do our bit.

Amy Conroy | Editorial

Alma Amy Conroy is a native Californian who splits her time between Los Angeles and San Miguel de Allende. Amy and her husband, Jeff, are raising their three children biculturally and spend much of their free time frolicking through the gardens of Parque Juarez. Amy holds a Master¥s degree in Anthropology and is an advocate of bilingualismas the founder of habla blah blah music company passionate about introducing non-native speakers to Spanish with fun and whimsy. Amy also contributes to Dotcoms for Moms and SpanglishBaby

Laura Rodriguez Torres | Chief Operating Officer

Alma Laura Rodriguez Torres is a native of San Miguel de Allende, with a degree in Cultural Sciences from the University del Claustro de Sor Juana in Mexico City, with a specialization in event production.
